Nitrogen in liquid form can be used to chill, freeze, and package food & beverages. Nitrogen in gaseous form can be used in flammable furnace atmospheres for metal heat treatment or for inerting chemical reactors. Nitrogen is regularly used in the oil & gas industry for well stimulation, coiled tubing services, pressure testing, cementing, and circulation control. Additional uses include inerting, blanketing, and purging in industries from energy production to pharmaceuticals.
